Permanent Residence in Canada is synonymous with being ‘a landed immigrant’ or having successfully completed the immigration process and having been granted an immigrant visa.

Canadian permanent residents are entitled to all the same rights, freedoms and privileges (i.e. education, health care) as those of citizens.
