Changes announced concerning the Federal Skilled Worker program
The Government of Canada has recently announced and is starting its investment of $50 million over the next two years in order to quicken immigrants’ integration into the Canadian work force. The investment will develop new guiding principles for recognition of foreign credentials as well as create a list of priority occupations so that certain individuals can begin their accreditation process in their home countries - before their arrival to Canada
Minister Diane Finley of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) is confident that this money will significantly aid newcomers in having their internationally-acquired education and work experience assessed and recognized faster. As a result, these individuals will be able to settle into their respective occupations quickly and begin their contribution to the Canadian workforce immediately and effectively. This will help the Canadian immigration process as well as ensure that the Canadian market remains competitive.
